Carpenter's Helper

We are seeking a full-time carpenter’s helper with minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in residential construction.  Pay is commensurate with experience.

• Must be willing and eager to learn or continue to learn carpentry techniques and methods.

• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately and to 1/16”.

• Ability to identify tools and materials (i.e., know what a circular saw is, know what a 2x4 is, know what a sheet of plywood is…)

• Experience using power, battery or pneumatic tools a plus.

• Duties will include:

  • Set up and take-down tools daily.

  • Daily clean-up of jobsite and tools.

  • Tote materials and tools where and as needed.

  • Follow the direction of and assist carpenters.

  • Excavating post holes by hand.

  • Installation of building hardware (e.g., joist hangers, hurricane ties, post bases, post caps…).

  • Carpentry related tasks compatible with level of experience.
